My name is Kim Wills and I’m an artist living and working in East Sussex. Like many artists, I first became fascinated with the subject as a child, not content unless I was playing with line and colour which ultimately progressed to being educated at Epsom School of Art and later, a career in design.
For thirteen years I worked for companies such as Freemans Catalogue, designing layouts and art directing photo shoots, (I was lucky enough to work with the likes of Yasmin Le Bon when she first started her modelling career) followed by Avon Cosmetics, working for the Italian marketing department. Having the chance to work closely with other imaginative minds only enhanced my love for such a creative and fluid industry.
By the late 80’s I was in employment at Octopus Books, working as a book jacket designer in the famous Michelin House on the Fulham Road, before deciding to pursue a career as a freelance designer. During this time I was working with the art departments of many big- name brands, including Marks & Spencer, helping to launch their first Summer Living catalogue.
Subsequently, I have been very fortunate to raise a family and move around the world, spending time in both New Zealand and Australia – where I continued to paint; specialising in watercolour commissions, exhibiting at local art societies, honing my life drawing skills and completing a course in interior design.

My home for the past 10 years has been East Sussex with my husband. Although both my children have now left home, I still paint and at present can indulge my passion more than ever. Whether human subject, flora or fauna, the verdant East Sussex countryside remains a continual source of inspiration.
I take portrait and landscape commissions using either watercolour or acrylic and sometimes mixed media on watercolour paper and canvas. If you would like to see further examples of my work please click on the Gallery tab in the menu.
